Exhibition – 27 May to 24 September 2017
Saturdays and Sundays 3-5pm
Dining Hall and Gallery

Richard Sorrell (b.1948) is a painter of invented figurative pictures or, put more simply: ‘people doing things’. He works in oil, acrylic and watercolour. His career started as a predominantly landscape, portrait and still-life painter – by instinct a draughtsman, and interested in the appearance of things, particularly plants and animals – an objective painter. His subjective painting – the invented compositions – was a smaller part of his work at this time, but the inventions have come to greater prominence since the 1990s.

(Please note the exhibition is closed on 24/25 June and 29/30 July)
